Meeting attendees can expect to:
- Learn which HUD-funded programs are subject to the Action Plan.
- Hear the timeline of the planning process and key deadlines.
- Understand how and when to provide feedback during the planning process.
- Participate in a Q&A period about the action planning process.
As required by the State’s Citizen Participation Plan, this notice is given to citizens and stakeholders as a means of informing them that the planning process is beginning.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires the State of Missouri to publish a five-year Consolidated Plan along with an annual Action Plan outlining the intended use of HUD funds. Each year, the State is required to develop an action plan that outlines how HUD-funded, State-administered programs will operate over the next year. DED is the lead agency responsible for developing this action plan.
The State currently operates five HUD-funded programs across three departments and agencies that are subject to the action planning process:
- Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
- HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), National Housing Trust Fund (HTF), and Housing Emergency Solutions Program (HESP - federally known as the Emergency Solutions Grant) administered by the Missouri Housing Development Commission.
- Housing of Persons with AIDS (HOPWA), administered by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
