Sheltered vs. Unsheltered Homelessness

This dashboard summarizes annual HUD’s Point-in-Time (PIT) homelessness counts by sheltered and unsheltered status for the years 2016-2020 in the state of Missouri. For the PIT count, the status of a person experiencing homelessness is sheltered when overnight accommodation on the night of the count is at an emergency shelter, transitional housing or Safe Haven housing. Counts are broken down by Continuum of Care (CoC) program, and further segmented by gender, race and ethnicity, and subpopulation. In addition, the dashboard provides total counts of families experiencing homelessness by shelter status for 2016-2020.
